A Tayside police officer is to stand trial accused of battering a man with his baton while on duty. It's alleged that PC Douglas Fisher assaulted a man to his injury during an incident in Dundee's South Road last October. The 39 year old denied the offence at the city's sheriff court. In other news; TV presenter Lorraine Kelly has helped to lay the foundations of a major new extension to Dundee University's Medical School. It's part of an eleven million pounds investment to upgrade facilities at one of the top performing medical institutes in the UK. And in sport; St Johnstone WILL play Eskeeshispor in the Europa League later this month. That's after after another Turkish side, Beskitas, this afternoon lost their appeal against their recent expulsion from the competition.
